    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

It looks like you've got a fantastic trip, and 80 days is a great amount of time for it. However, when you're talking about a trip that covers nearly the entire country, its simply impossible for us to start listing off any specific ideas without having some idea of what it is you are looking for.

I will say right now it looks like you've got a route that focuses exclusively on cities, with the exception of the Grand Canyon. There are dozens of national parks all over the country that you could look to include, with Colorado and Utah having some of the largest concentration. There's also a lot more to road options than just freeways, but everything really comes back to you, first.

I'm not a traveler that focuses on cities, so I have no real idea of what you are looking to see/do in Lubbock, Austin, Cedar Point, and a few others on your list. Memphis, New Orleans and Nashville sound like you might be looking to look at places related to music.

As far as "place I'd rather not go", I'd just say to use your instinct and common sense. If you get to a place and it doesn't feel right, or the hair on the back of your neck seems to stand up, that's a place to leave immediately.

Michael suggested that there are national parks along your route. To name some off the top of my head, Yosemite, Arches, Rocky Mountain National Park, Great Smoky Mountains, Petrified Forest, and more. There's also Lake Tahoe, Promontory Point (UT) which are not NP's but interesting/beautiful in their own right.

Cedar Point isn't a city, it's an amusement park.

I was thinking of Cedar Rapids, sorry. It's also hard to type with a baby on your lap!
