  1. Default Baltimore to Atlanta

I'm taking my child to college next week and I'm the sole driver. I need to break the trip up, and sleepover somewhere. Where is a good place to stop? I thought maybe Charlotte, but it might be too far. Any suggestions?

If you take I-95/I-85, Charlotte is a logical place to stop if you want to make this a 1.5 day trip. It's about 450 miles from Baltimore to Charlotte, and with normal food, fuel, and rest stops it's about 8 to 9 hours. It's another 230 miles on to Atlanta, which is 5 to 5.5 hours.

I'd recommend you stay out around the airport somewhere, so you don't have to fight rush hour traffic heading into the city in the morning. Perhaps Gastonia may be a slightly better bet.
