  1. Default Honeymoon to the Grand Canyon

My daughter and her new husband will be leaving on Sunday for a honeymoon trip to the Grand Canyon. They are planning on taking in the sights on the South Rim, maybe spending a day in Durango and maybe checking out Mesa Verde. They will be camping along the way and have a limited time budget and want to make the most of their time. Looking for advice for "must do" activities or sights to see and for recommendations for tent friendly campgrounds.

Default One Place Not to Miss

The whole area that they'll be traveling through is spectacular, but one area (besides the Grand Canyon) that they should make every effort to get to would be Monument Valley. Campgrounds in the National Forests of the area (Kaibab and San Juan) offer their best bet at quiet camping wi8th this little lead time.

    Default Questions.

How limited is the time ? Where are they starting from and finishing ? Having an idea of the whole route they will be following, along with the time available will make suggestions a lot easier.

  4. Default time and route

The kids have about 4 days to explore Colorado, Utah and Arizona. They will be traveling from Iowa, Nebraska, Colorado, Utah, then Arizona. They are considering cutting south so that they can go to Durango which would eliminate most of Utah, however they may take a different route back home. They have also explored the idea of a Jeep ride tour either near Durango or the Pink Jeep tour in Sedona, AZ. They are thinking they need to narrow down their choices to two "must dos" and a couple of optional activities.

It sounds like you might be right in terms of what they can do or how they can divide up their time - but we still don't have a very clear idea of they have to work with. Giving advice right now, is a little bit like drawing a detailed picture of a person, when you're only seeing them in sillouette.

4 Days in CO/AZ/UT - so they have maybe a week to 10 days total to drive to and from Iowa? Certainly there are a lot of different options, especially when it comes to having different route choices for each direction of the trip and options for activities like Jeep Tours. Its really hard to offer specific ideas when we still have such a vague idea of the overall plan.
