  1. Default San Francisco to Las Vegas

I will be driving from San Francisco to Vegas. I was planning on driving straight there but I can also make the drive in two days. I would love some advice on where to stop on the way to Las Vegas (preferably mid way).

    Welcome to RTA!

Assuming you will eventually be on I-5 and then cut over to I-15, Bakersfield is probably about the halfway point. Or are you asking for places to see along the way? SF to LV is about 570 miles -- 11 hours via that particular route -- but with two days, you would have time to stop and see something.

With 2 days, going via Yosemite would really be the obvious choice. The first day, head to Yosemite, and spend the afternoon exploring the Valley. The next day, head across Tioga Pass, down across Death Valley, and into Vegas.

That's going to be much more scenic than the direct and fast route via Bakersfield that Donna mentioned.
