  1. Default From San Jose To Las Vegas

I am planning to drive from San Jose to Las Vegas the end of December, planning to take I5 to I15. I am uncertain as to the road condition from Bastow to Las Vegas with respect to the likelihood of day time snowing at this time of the year. Mountain Pass near I15 is about 4000 feet elevation. Does it often snow at this time of the year on I15 to Vegas?

    Thanks in advance!

It is certainly possible to see snow on that stretch of highway. Last year, part of I-15 was closed due to snow and ice. The safest bet is to keep abreast of the weather reports for the area, and to heed any warnings that you may receive.

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

It can snow this time of year on I-15, in fact it can snow and does snow in Vegas itself this time of year. It just doesn't happen very often. Its unlikely that you'd see any major snow that would disrupt your travel. In fact, I'd say you'd be most likely to see snow along CA-58 at Tehachapi, although, also there, you're pretty unlikely to see a travel disruption.
