    Default East Coast Fall Colors

After returning from a summer trip to the West, I spent a little over a week following (well, actually a bit behind) the East coast Fall Colors in Ricketts Glen State Park, PA (2 pages),

Babcock State Park, WV (2 pages),

    Mabry Grist Mill, VA

and a visit to Luray Caverns, VA.

I also took some photos at one of my favorite local waterfalls, Chittenango Falls.

Beautiful scenery, beautiful photos! What settings did you use on your camera to capture the waterfall scene?

For most of the photos I used either a 10 stop or variable neutral density filter to cut down the amount of light so I could work with long shutter speeds. Generally, shutter speeds were around .25 - 5 seconds.

Although the photos on this site have the EXIF data stripped out of them, the large versions of the images on my website (Fall 2011 Trip Index) include it. With an EXIF reader you can find the shutter speed, f: stop, focal length, etc - even for most, the location (I usually have a GPS attached to my camera).
