  1. Default Minnesota to Mesa

We plan to leave the day after Christmas and will want to use a Southern route (avoiding Denver). I will be bringing a guest that has not done this before and would like to have something of interest to do on the way down. Any suggestions? Also, we used to stop at a place called Pie Town in New Mexico, but can't remember on what highway that is. Anyone know?

    Welcome aboard!

Pie Town is on US's the website:

    Pie Town, NM

It's in the western portion of the state, along 60 between Quemado and Socorro.

As far as other places of interest, you might need to be more specific than that so that we can help you. Which route/s do you want to use? What are the interests of you and your guest?

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

There is nothing wrong with chosing a "southern" route, however, be aware that if your reason for doing so is to avoid winter weather, you could be unpleasantly surprised. Basically, you've got the chance of seeing snow and/or ice across nearly your entire trip, no matter which route you take.

Based on a quick google search, it appears Pie Town is on US-60, a couple hours southwest of Albuquerque.

As far as "something of interest to do," you've told us nothing about what kinds of things you are interested in, how , much time you've got, what other ideas you've already come up with, etc before we'll be able to provide much help.
