  1. Default 3 girls + RV+ open roads= help on tips for a great summer road trip!

    Greetings everyone!
Two of my friends and I are currently trying to plan a road trip for next summer. We have a few places in mind but have no clue on where to begin planning or searching or preparing. We know we would like visit the Badlands, Yellowstone National Park, and coastal California (spending most of our time in California). We are from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. So any tips and tricks and memorable places to see. Our backgrounds are def. a great of us is a nurse, one is a school teacher, and one is a firefighter, so we are up for any types of adventures and sights to see.

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

You've really just listed a couple of things that are thousands of miles from your home, and hundreds of miles apart. That's a start, but there is a whole lot more you need to do before we can really provide much assistance.

The first thing is take a look at the logistics - how much time do you have for this trip? You'll need at least 3 weeks to a month to just cover the ground and see the things you have listed. What's your budget going to look like, do you already have an RV?

Beyond that, you really just need to figure out what else are your priorities are. There are far too many things to see and do in the US for us to start throwing out general ideas, but sit down together, get out a big map, and just start listing off all the things you might want to see. Once you've got some more ideas, and a basis for how this trip will work, then things will start to come together.

    Default Down to basics.

    Welcome !

As Michael suggested, you really need to get the basics sorted out. If you are renting an RV you could fly out West and pick up the RV on arrival. Depending on time and budget you might want to consider focusing your trip in one area or the other. If Cali is where you wish to spend a lot of time you could consider the National parks near by. Yosemite, Sequoia and some of the NP's of Utah like Zion and Bryce canyon and the Grand canyon in AZ could be another possibility.

Once you have got the basics sorted we will be pleased to help you piece it altogether and make suggestions.
