What a great report.
And reading back from the very first question you asked, to how the trip developed and eventually took place, is just fantastic.

I agree with Lifey. Great report. Like most who plan a trip there for the first time, the early planning was a bit hectic and a worry but it all worked out good in the end. Well done John.

Thanks Keith. Just done the final photo count and not as bad as first thought. Now I have to start editing. Worked out at roughly one photo for every mile we travelled. 8000 photos all up. A lot are just snap shots so will seperate from the planned panoramic shots which will be stitched together. Should get it down to a thousand or so keepers.
Costing of the trip also worked out spot on. No money left over from budget and we didnt miss out on anything.
John
Still here sorting photos and editing so hopefully will be able to finish this field trip report and plan the next one.

Ain't digital photography great.
I think we snapped around 2,000 pictures on our 17 day trip, and repeatedly thought about just how different it would be if we were still on film!
Im in the process of setting up my website, hopefully that will be launched shortly as well. I have a facebook page called John Waters Photography where I have added some photos and panoramics so you are welcome to drop in and sa hi. Working long days makes it hard to do all the things you enjoy.I havent even started on the video yet. I want to take my photography to the next step so that will be happening with the website. I have been home nearly six months and still havent finished. I have the next trip in the planning stage in my mind and that will be at least 10-12 weeks in 2013. We want to start from San Francisco and do a loop around the USA. Im not even going to put pen to paper until I finish with this trip. My cameras are patiently waiting for me to let them loose in the US again. Thanks again for the help I got in planning this trip and all the positive feedback.
