  1. Default Central Fl to Ashville NC w/ a 4yr old and a 10 mth old

My wife and I are traveling with our children (4yr and 10 mth) to Ashville, NC (I-95 to I-26 into Ashville). I am looking for any suggestions related to parks and play areas (preferable indoors because of the weather) near this route to break up the trip.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Default A Bit Unusual

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Normally, when people are traveling with children they are looking for outdoor spaces where the kids can run around and blow off some steam after being cramped up in a car for a while. Such places are relatively easy to find. But indoor venues can be another story. Typically, these will require navigating into a city or at least a fair sized town, and are far more likely to require an admission charge. Nevertheless, indoor children's attractions do exist, they just require more forethought and planning. Along your route, a few worth looking into would be the ArtZeum at the Jepson Center in Savannah, and the EdVenture in Columbia. In addition, many smaller towns have local historical societies housed in old homes with a restored child's room that your four year old might find intriguing. If you do a web search on 'historical society' and townname you should find some possibilities.
