  1. Default Call before you go to Yosemite!

No updates since the 10th, but hurry up boy's there's less than 3 working days left before I would like it open !!
Just heard on the local news that Yosemite had to close campsites in Lower Pines Campground and some of the housekeeping tents due to flooding. The park had to relocate some campers today. The news suggested people with reservations for this weekend to call before driving up.

The FALLS in the video they showed were AWESOME!

Hoping that it takes about 9 1/2 more days for Tioga pass to open ;)

We're using "Price is Right" rules this year, right? Closest to the actual date/time without going over :)

Missing by 24 days is a whole lot less disappointing than missing by 24 hours!

    Default Wrong !

But we are using a TV theme this year, 'Play your cards right' where the old saying was 'Points make prizes'.

    Points are made like so.

CAnative prediction made 15 days ago. Less day's out by - 0 Total score 15 points.
SW Dave Prediction made 152 days ago. Less day's out by - 2. Total score 150 points.

Highest score wins, beat that ! What do you reckon ?

Of course we still have to wait for the official announcement. They could possibly open it later today as they won't be working before 8am in the morning and it could be a ploy to stop traffic jams in the morning ? There are still a lot of warnings about, plus a lot of snow and a quick thaw going on. A lot can happen between now and then !

[Well what's a game show without excitement to the bitter end !]

Default We have a winner !!

Congratulations CAnative, you are the winner of the 2011 Spring opening with the correct date, and was only out by 2 hours on the clock ! A late entry to the contest that put the '15 day rule' to good use, well done !

Unlucky to Midwest Michael who was so close with his earlier prediction of the 17th, which was your initial prediction before realising it had already been claimed. Guess you owe him a thank you ! Lol.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next one, Winter closing 2011.

    Yosemite NP confirmation.

You're the Sheriff... But I don't see the official Yosemite page showing any confirmed opening today...
