  1. Default Fall trip with motorhome

We are planning a trip to the East Coast with a few "Must see" places included. Quincy, Ma and the John Adams histroy along with the Summer homes of the Vanderbilt, Astor ,etc. group in Newport RI are several of the Must see stopping places. Any and all suggestions that anyone else would share will be appreciated. Time is no problem as we are retired and take our pets with us. We will be starting from Ariz and plan on leaving around the first week of Sept.

    Default Historic Homes

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Since the sights you've listed are all historic homes, some other such locations along a general route from Arizona to New England (I-40/I-81/I-64/I-95) would include the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument outside Albuquerque, the Palace of the Governors in Santa Fe, the Oklahoma City Memorial, Hot Springs, Arkansas, the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC, Monticello, Montpelier, Ash Lawn-Highland, and Mount Vernon, all in Virginia, Winterthur outside Wilmington, DE, Mark Twain's and Harriet Beecher Stowe's adjacent homes in West Hartford, and of course, all the sights of New England.

Thank you for the wonderful suggestions. Some of these places I have already visited. And several of the homes and museums are new to me. I am a big fan of Historic and Plantation Homes. Your suggestions have filled in a lot of my East Coast route.
