Hello and welcome to the RTA forums !

I can't see the point in driving to Vegas and back to DV next day, you might as well stop in Death valley and continue to Vegas next day.

If you head South from Yosemite towards Bakersfield and around the Southern end of the Sierra's [you can go past Lake Isabella] to 395 and then into DV on 190 you have lodgings at Panamint springs and Stovepipe Wells. There are other lodgings closer to Vegas at Furnace creek but it's a little too far IMO to enjoy Death valley to that point. Continuing on 190 to Death valley junction next day, you can then take the State line/Ash meadows Rd to Pahrump and 160 to Vegas, known as "the Locals route".

There is a couple of area's where your trip is pushed for time this is one of them. It is a five hour [plus] drive from Vegas to GC and leaving early next morn for LA is a little rushed to see this wonder of the world. I certainly wouldn't leave soon after arriving, and to get from here to LA you will have to allow 10 hours travel time with stops only for food, bathroom and gas stops with a little time to stretch the legs.

The second area I referred to was Yosemite. It will take 5 hours or so to get there and then you are leaving early next day for Vegas. It doesn't leave much time at this wonder of the world as the waterfalls are flowing from the snow melt into the valley. An option would be to leave Yosemite a little later stop in the Lake Isabella area and continue to Vegas through Death valley next day, personally I would "pinch a night" from LA and slow the pace a little.

    Thanks Dave

We will leave San Francisco in the afternoon on day 5 to stay in Yosemite
and we will stay one night between Grand Canyon and Anahiem.
So give us some more time to explore Yosemite and Grand Canyon.

    Cheers
