    Default How long ?

Hello and welcome to the RTA forums !

You seem to have a good idea of the places you want to visit and you have laid them out in the right order.
It is possible to get to the Grand canyon in a long day, but you could stop overnight on route and possibly take a drive through Joshua tree NP. Lake Havasu City or Kingman are a couple of options for lodgings.
On the way back to Vegas you could drive along part of the original route 66 through Seligman to Kingman and make a stop at the Hoover dam. From Vegas, a popular route is the 160 to Pahrump and then take the Ash Meadows road to Death valley junction and then 190 across. There are lodging options at Furnace creek, Stovepipe wells and Panamint Springs in the park or you could keep going to the Ridgecrest/Lake Isabella area. Continuing to Sequoia, head towards Porterville and Exeter on 65 and then the 198 through Three rivers. The 198 goes right through the park to the Giants forest and is known as the "Generals highway". Here you will get to see the largest living thing on Earth, the General Sherman tree. As you leave the park to the North towards Fresno, I would take CA 41 and 46 to Cambria and then up the coast to Big Sur and SF. You don't say how long you have for the road trip between Venice and SF, but you should allow a week if you want a little time enjoying the places, if you have longer then great ! You might even want to consider Yosemite National park, a true wonder.

I see you've already found our directory of our favorite threads covering this area. Since your trip is basically the most popular trip on this forum and there are lots of routes and suggestions already provided in those threads, were there any specific questions that you still had?

Thank you so much. We will like to stay aproximatte 6 days in the trip. We want to leave LA on a Sunday and arrive to San Francisco on a Saturday. I will have a look to the map and may be I will have some questions.
