  1. Default Atlanta-West Virginia-Niagara-PA-NY-DC-Atlanta

I am planning a 10-day road trip from Atlanta as mentioned above. My major points of interest are Moundsville, WV; Niagara Falls, Lancaster, PA; NYC; DC back to Atlanta.

I would appreciate any scenic routes or things to do in the routes that would help me prepare the trip. The trip is from July 2-12

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions.

    Default Nice Area

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Starting out, you have a great early destination in Great Smoky Mountains National Park and then one of the East's truly scenic roads in the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way to Moundsville. Between Parkersburg and Moundsville you'll have the chance to wander along the Ohio River on either side (WV-2 or OH-7) or both. It would make more sense to go to NYC from Niagara Falls and pick up Lancaster by using I-78 out of NYC on the way to Washington. You could also easily add a visit to Gettysburg on that leg. finally, look at some slightly slower paced roads in Virginia as an alternative to I-95 to Richmond. Good candidates include US-29 and/or US-15 into the Greensboro area.
