  1. Default fall in new england

We are an Aussie couple who'll fly to Boston in Sep & drive around the region for 2 weeks to see the autumn colours, mostly to the State Parks. We'd love advice on favoured parks, must see spots and cheap car or small RV rental, etc. We love hiking, birds and historic buildings. Then we hop on a 7-day cruise from Boston to Quebec so what's the best way to get back to Boston to catch our return flight. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers from Lyn in Queensland

    Default Not a Problem

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

It is quite easy to find any number of things to do around New England and never be farther than a 3-4 hour drive from Boston. Personally, I'd recommend a small car (in the mid-size or intermediate class) and staying in B&Bs over roaming (and sleeping) in an RV. But if you really do plan to go during fall 'leaf peeping', I also strongly suggest that you book early, especially for the first two weeks of October, the height of fall color.

Considering that you cannot rent a car in Canada and return it in the US, you will have to look at public transportation from Quebec to Boston. From a time standpoint, flying would probably be best.
