  1. Default LA to Denver in mid-December, quick trip???

    All,

Wow, this is a great forum - so many good-lookin adventures!

I am planning a trip to Denver, from LA, in mid-December to do a good amount of snowboarding. I would really like to road-trip it vs. flying - I have a 4x4 Ram that doesn't get alot of work as it's not my daily driver but I love takin it on trips, and it would save me having to rent a car once I get there. I'd be going w/my girlfriend and my brother and his gf so the gas price would offset between the 4 of us.

As great of a drive as this appears to be, based on the research I've done on this forum, it doesn't seem to make sense as I only have about 7 days and would like to spend 5 in CO snowboarding. Seems like it could be done if absolutely necessary, but trying to get it done that quickly would take away from the whole experience - not to mention it not being very safe after being on the slopes for 5 days.

Any thoughts? Guess I'm just delaying the inevitable by posting this, but I'd really like to make the drive...

With those time constraints, no go. LA to Denver is over 1000 miles and cannot be driven in one day. That is a full 2 day drive each way, more if you encounter bad weather.

    Default No can do.

Hello and welcome to the RTA forums !

Yep, As glc said it's a two day drive in reasonable conditions so unless you can find more time or accept 3 day's snowboarding the road's out I'm afraid. If you pushed hard to get their in a day and a half with a long first day you wouldn't be in much shape to go boarding either.

Gentlemen - thanks so much for the warm welcome. Sounds like I need to do the driving trip another time, but I guess its something to look forward to.

I'll be sure and be back next time around. Thanks again!

It certainly is ! There is so much to see and do it'll make a worthwhile road trip by itself.

No problem, look forward to it.
