  1. Default Seattle to Las Vegas

I am planning to drive to Vegas at the end of October.
I've done the coast road, Yosemite and Death valley before and Google map suggested a route through Salt lake city.
Visiting Bryce and Zion would be good.
Is there anything to see on the route form Seattle->Boise->Salt lake?
I assume most of Oregon is lakes and mountains but don't know a lot about Idaho - especially the southern bit.

    Thanks

    Default Always Something to See

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

As is the same everywhere, there is plenty to see along your route that is interesting, unique and rewarding. The opportunities are limited only by the amount of time you have to devote to them and your willingness to do what it takes to get to and explore them. In Washington and Oregon, such sites would include the Yakima Nation Museum, the McNary Dam and associated wetlands, the McKay Creek National Wildlife Refuge, and the National Historic Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. In southern Idaho, you'll be coming within visiting distance of the Snake River Birds of Prey Natural Area, Bruneau Sand Dunes, Bruneau Canyon, and Hagerman Fossil Beds.

    Default Shoshone Falls

You would be close enough to make a detour to Twin Falls and the actual falls - Shoshone Falls - though these are more spectacular in spring than autumn. Then just a little up the canyon you can see the spot where Evil Kenevil (sp?) attempted to jump the canyon on his motor cycle... but failed!

Lifey who also loved the scene at the bridge over the river north of town

    Thanks,
I have about a week to ge to Vegas.
I picked up the lonely planet and I will probably just start driving and see where I get to when - that's the whole point of a road trip!

With that attitude, you will have a great trip.

When I left NJ recently, I had no idea where to head.... the subsequent week in CO was sheer magic!

Lifey wishes you a safe trip
