Default Utah 12: America's Most Dangerously Exciting Road

Scenic Utah 12 is byfar the most memorable road we drove on through our trip out west. I felt like we were going to die! The curves were so sharp, the cliffs were so steep and the ground so winding. If you weren't paying extremely close attention, you could easily fall off one of the cliffs. Needless to say, it was quite an adventure. Check out this road if you are going through Utah- you won't be disappointed!!

    Default I've Got To Ask

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

What makes you think that "the most dangerous road in America" is a proper place to be doing filming and commentary rather than paying attention to your driving?

Default It's too bad a UT-State Trooper didn't see you while you were filming!

I've deleted the video thread you posted in the interests of common sense. Hwy-12 does have some interesting sections -- but "most dangerous" hardly -- I doubt it would make my my top 100 dangerous roads -- It's pretty calm actually.

    Default For the defence !

    For the road
I have driven 'scenic 12' in a 30ft RV without giving it a thought other than for it's outstanding beauty, if anyone gets the chance, DRIVE IT !

    For the OP
In fairness it should be pointed out that the passenger was shooting the footage in the video although it could be a distraction.

Default A good way to get on the DNR list

Yeah, if you drove the Shafer in a rental RV, and survived, I bet the rental company would make sure you could never rent again....

Thanks for sharing that link. Here's another photo, lest we all forget....
