  1. Default Is a seattle-Yellowstone-SLC-Yosemite-SF-back to Seattle loop doable?

    Hi There,

My husband and I are entertaining the possibility of a road trip. We will not have more than a week and a half for our plans.

We would like to start in Seattle, drive to yellowstone, spend some time there, drive down to see yosemite for a few days (salt lake city seems to be on the way but no real craving to visit there) and then spend some time in san francisco and drive up the coast again.

Is this too much?? we can't decide between the national parks so I was thinking of a plan that will include both.

    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

It could certainly be done -- but some of those days will be long ones in the car -- especially if "a few days" is more than three.... I ran some routes to give you an idea. Straight-line driving miles between these points would be 2986 miles, actual trip miles, including side trips, food, exploration, etc would be closer to 3700 miles. It will require 65 trip hours to handle the driving parts (6.5 days at 10 hours per day) If you spend 2-3 days in Yellowstone 1-2 days in Yosemite and 1-2 days in San Francisco -- you'll need a minimum of 13 days for this trip.

I would do either Yosemite and western Wyoming (maybe the Tetons) or Yosemite and San Francisco. But probably not both.
