    Default Surprisingly Few, Actually

Usually, when lists of intriguing destinations come out, I am pleased to see that I've often hit 50-75% of them. I've only been to 3 of these. The one that I think is worth mentioning is Lititz, PA. Back in the days when I lived in Ithaca, NY and was driving half a dozen times a year down to see family in the Chesapeake Bay area, I was always looking for new routes. On one particular drive, I set myself the challenge that I could not use any Interstate highways, nor any US highways, not even any state highways unless they had 3 digit numbers. And there, serendipitously at the junction of PA-772 and PA-501 was Lititz. As I recall, this was in late Autumn, certainly after Thanksgiving, and the town was done up in all its Christmas finery. It literally stopped me cold and I had to get out and walk its streets for an hour or so and just take in the ambience of a small town American Christmas that I thought had long since disappeared. We are often asked for 'hidden gems' that most people would not have heard of. Lititz is one such place, made more compelling for me just by its unexpectedness.

    Default Only 1/3 for me

    4. Fort Worth, Tx
    9. Santa Barbara, Ca
    10. Santa Fe, NM
    12. Virginia City, Nv

OK, I mean this in the kindest possible way...why Fort Worth? I was there to visit family and they didn't really show us much. What did we miss?

  5. Default

    1. Athens, Ga
    2. Briston, RI
    3. Buffalo, NY*
    4. Fort Worth, Tx*
    5. Franklin, Tn
    6. Hot Springs, SD
    7. Lake Geneva, Wi
    8. Lititz, Pa
    9. Santa Barbara, Ca*
    10. Santa Fe, NM*
    11. Saugatuck-Douglas, Mi
    12. Virginia City, Nv

    * Been to.

    Only four.

I don't need more objectives. I'm already trying to drive through every county, as well as every interstate and US route at least on part of them in each state.

Dont need more 'things to do'... :)

    Sykotyk

P.S., apparantly I need to add 'counting' as one of my things to do. Four not three...
