    Default New to Road Trip

i'm planning on travelling on a road trip next week. i never ever went on a road trip before. me and my wife are planning it next week.

Will be travelling from Mountain View, CA to Grand Canyon via Yosemite, Death Valley, Sequoia and Vegas and
back to Mountain View via Phoenix, Joshua tree and LA. in 11 days. i would be driving most of the time.

    1. is it possible in 11 days?

    2. i heard there might be a lot of snow in Yosemite and DeathValley...

is this true? would it make it difficult..

    3. i saw a few forums ,, but none mentioned about travelling in winter

Could someone please help? thanks a million

Certainly you can make this trip over 11 days. I estimate that you have about 4 days of driving ahead of you. leaving you 7 full days to enjoy the great venues you'll be driving to.

There are currently a couple of feet of snow at Yosemite. In Death Valley on the other hand, daytime temps are around 50║F and they only get 2 inches of precipitation a year, so there should be no problems there and in fact there are none noted on the National Park Service's web site. Tioga Pass is not an option, so you will have to stay on the west side of the Sierra Nevada and swing south of the mountains through Bakersfield and Barstow on your way between Sequoia and Death Valley, but I have taken that into account in my 4 days of driving estimate.
