  1. Default Winter East Coast Trip

I am thinking about taking a road trip with my wife from Ohio to the Florida Keys (Islamorada) and back in December. I would like to hit some romantic spots on the east coast as well in the Apalachians along the way. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As long as you realize that 'Romantic' is as much about the time spent with your loved one as the place where you spend that time, there are some great low-key places on your way south that you should look at. Even though the advertising slogan "Virginia is for lovers" leaves me cold, the Shenandoah National Park and towns like Lexington certainly qualify. Farther south and a bit out of your way are two quaint and charming cities, Charleston and Savannah which would also be quite enjoyable. But having the time to enjoy them is essential.
