Hi everyone!
I'm planning my first solo road trip on October 1st. I'm leaving Los Angeles and moving to Oklahoma City to attend school, and I'm taking my 1 and 1/2 year old English bulldog along with me. Most of the way I'll be taking Route 40, which passes through Flagstaff, Albuquerque and Amarillo.
So here's my question: If you've taken this route before in early fall, can you tell me what the weather conditions were like? The reason I ask is that my dog is prone to hyperthermia. He's very sensitive to heat. If it's in the 80s or low 90s most of the way, I can probably keep him cool with the air conditioner and by giving him plenty of cool water and ice cubes. But if it's hotter than that, then I think I'll have to forget about the trip until later in the year.
Your advice?
Thanks,
Nikki
