  1. Default DC to Atlantic City to NYC

I'm currently planning a road trip from DC to Atlantic City to NYC and back to DC within 4 and a half days.

My current plan is to drive from DC to Atlantic City, and then take a train to NYC. With my return trip, I would take a train from NYC to Atlantic City, and then drive back to DC. I'm thinking of not taking the train altogether and drive from Atlantic City to NYC, so that I can then drive straight from NYC back to DC. Which option is better? How long is the drive from NYC to DC?

Any additional inputs, feedback, and suggestions would greatly be appreciated!!!

The drive from New York City to Washington, DC is about 235 miles, which works out to about 4.5 hours. Given the state of rail travel in this country, it most likely would be the better option if you want to get back home by a certain time.
