  1. Default San Diego to Philly

Howdy folks , I'm driving from Sd to phl in a volvo 760 turbo 4 cylinder and I'm trying to save my self any unnecessary problems so I am looking for the route with the least height and not going over 3000 miles. I am leaving in a few days and with the heat down in texas and all the southern region I am not sure of the way to go. Any suggestions. Thanks

    Default more than you think

    Welcome to the RTA Forum!

The first thing I'd recommend is to not worry too much about your car. If you car is in shape for a cross country roadtrip, then heat, elevation, or distance really won't be a serious issue. Cars are built to drive in a variety of conditions, and really, driving long distance even across those terrains and conditions is much less stressful on a car than in-town, stop and go driving.

The fastest and most direct route for this trip would be to take I-40 to Oklahoma, I-44 to St Louis, and then I-70 to Pennsylvania.
