  1. Default Death Valley To Yosemite End of April

    Hello !

Was wondering if anybody has got any advice for me. Around the end of April we'll be staying a night at Furnace Creek and we're planning on going to Yosemite. However, we want to see if we can do the whole trip in a day, which if we leave around 8am i think is possible.

I'm planning to go up the 395 to Sonora Pass and back track to Yosemite. However, i have a nasty feeling that this might be too much! Do you think it's worth just staying in a motel for the night around Sonora and splitting the route in two?

    Any suggestions would be great!

Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! It is anyone's guess whether or not Sonora Pass (SR-108) will be open this year at the end of April. If I were a betting man... I would say -- Not Real Likely....

With a helicopter it might be -- but if the SR-108 is still closed, you will need to either us US-50 or go around the southern end of the Sierras. Actually it is doable, either way -- just need to plan for a long day in the saddle.
