  1. Default grand canyon north rim to san diego

We're flying in from Phili to Phoenix this July and planning a 2 week trip from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon to San Diego. Have already booked 4 nights in one of the cabins there, but now need to plan the trip from there out to San Diego. Any cool ideas of what to see, where to stay, etc. with our 16 year old son???

    Default north rim

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
There's a lot of things to do. You can drive to Page (2.5 hours from NR) for Antelope Canyon, Horseshoebend overlook, Lake Powell and Glen Canyon Dam. See Marble Canyon, Lees Ferry and Navajo bridges on your way (and look for condors). You could visit Bryce (3.5 hours directly). More or less on your way are Pipe Spring NM (an oasis in the desert), visit Kanab (Frontier Movie Town, Moqui Cave), make a loop via Coral Pink Sanddunes SP. Visit Red Canyon on ut12 just before Bryce. Then there's Zion NP. You could drive from Bryce directly (2 hours) or take the detour via Cedar Breaks NM. Between Cedar City and St. George is the Kolob section of Zion worth a short visit and west of St. George is Snow Canyon SP for hiking and biking. Never miss Zion NP. Fantastic. On your way to Las Vegas you're driving through beautiful Virgin River Gorge on I15. NE of Las Vegas is Valley of Fire SP and Overton with the Lost City museum and Lake Mead is close now. West of Las Vegas is Red Rock Canyon with a beautiful loop and between Las Vegas and Barstow is Mojave National Preserve. Maybe your son likes Calico Ghosttown before Barstow.
Many options in this great part of the world.
    Happy planning
