  1. Default Tennessee to the Grand Canyon

I was hoping someone could give some advice for a trip I'm planning for my husband's fiftieth birthday next summer. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated; we'll be towing our 26' TT, and we're planning to drive around 5 hours a day (except the first day).

Day one - Knoxville to West Memphis, Arkansas
Day two - West Memphis to Hot Springs, Arkansas...Relax.
Day three - Hot Springs to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Day four - Oklahoma City to Amarillo, Texas
Day five - Amarillo to Santa Fe, New Mexico
    Day six - Santa Fe
Day seven - Santa Fe to Sedona, Arizona
    Day eight - Sedona
Day nine - Sedona to Williams, Arizona...Laundry.
Day ten - Board train to Grand Canyon
    Day eleven - Grand Canyon
Day twelve - Board train back to Williams
Day thirteen - Williams to Page, Arizona

And then...well, I'm not sure. I can take an equal number of days to return, but I do have to limit the trip to about a month. Does that seem reasonable for this trip - both driving and seeing some things along the way. I would love for this to be a true experience, and while I know we can't see everything, I don't want this to be a crazed pace either.

In addition, if I don't have reservations for campsites on the way back, are we doomed? I plan to secure reservations on the "going" end of the trip, but I'd really like to keep the return part as flexible as possible.

Again, I appreciate any help you can give.

Yeah, the first day is about 7.5 hours or so. The rest of the route really is about 5 hours a day! Congratulations and Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum!

    The pace seems very reasonable!

That is my favored way to travel.
Here are some little visited places in Arizona -- here is a general overview about visiting monuments and here is a touch-up on your boondocking skills.
