I am planning a road trip to visit some of the national parks in the South West United States during the second half of November and wondered if you had any advice?
The plan is:
Nov 15th Houston - San Antonio
Nov 16th San Antonio - Big Bend (10 bits Ranch)
Nov 17th Big Bend (Big Bend National Park)
Nov 18th Big Bend - El Paso
Nov 19th El Paso - Globe
Nov 20th Globe - Joshua Tree (Joshua Tree National Park)
Nov 21st Joshua Tree - Death Valley (Furnace Creek Inn)
Nov 22nd Death Valley - Las Vegas
Nov 23rd Las Vegas - Grand Canyon (Grand Canyon Village)
Nov 24th Grand Canyon - Zion (Zion Lodge)
Nov 25th Zion (Zion and Bryce National Parks)
Nov 26th Zion - Moab
Nov 27th Moab (Arches National Park)
Nov 28th Moab - National Monument (Goulding's Lodge)
Nov 29th National Monument - Santa Fe
Nov 30th Sante Fe - Canyon (Palo Dura Canyon)
Dec 1st Canyon - Fort Worth (Billy Bob's)
Dec 2nd Forth Worth - Houston
I have tried to keep each day <8 hours and around 300-400 miles, most of our sight seeing will be along the way.
We will probably try to visit Chloride City while in Death Valley, I found a really great description on this site, and was looking for some other side trips that we could include or things not to miss.
