Default Summer Trip Seattle to Yankee Stadium

    Hello,
I am looking for some suggestions and advice about traveling from Seattle, WA to NewYork City.
There will be 2 adults and 2 kids, we will most likely leave the end of June 2008 and will have appox. 10 days to complete the trip.
What I am looking for is places to stop and visit, places to stay, resturants (we will pack a cooler with some things). I should mention that we are driving in our SUV.
We don't need 5 star places to stay or eat.
Any help would be great. This is our first major road trip. We have done the get there in one day trips before.
    Thanks

Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum! Is this a round-trip 10 day excursion or one-way? If round trip, with time to see the baseball game -- you really need to stick to Interstates and hammer down. It takes a full five days (one-way) to travel from Seattle to NYC.

Here are some tips for planning this wonderful adventure:

Once we know if you need to return to Seattle within the 10 days, we can offer some stopping ideas.

I-90 to I-25 to I-80 will probably be your fastest route and here are some suggestions for places to stop and rest on I-80

    Happy Planning!

    Default Hammer Down

I suspect you are talking about this as a round trip, and if that is the case, I really hope you can add some extra time to this trip. Yes, you can drive to NY from Seattle and Back in 10 days, but that's about it. You'll have very little time to enjoy anything along the way, and you'll even have a hard time squeezing a baseball game into that schedule.

If it were just a couple of adults looking to experience Yankee Stadium before it is replaced in 2009, I could understand this pace. However, with kids, I think you're asking for problems. Think of it this way, by the time you can answer "Yes" to the question "Are we there yet?," you'll have to turn around and head back home.

    Default Thanks

Thank you for all the help. I think we will fly back and take the extra days and some more fun stuff. Huge baseball fans and need to see the stadium before they demo it.
    Thanks
