  1. Default Buffalo to San Diego in 5-6 days: Need cool scenery/cool places to stop!!!!

Hey all. So next week me and a bud are goin from Buffalo, NY to San Diego. Gonna take 5-6 days. Definitely want to go through Colorado, Santa Fe, probably like to see Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, and MAYBE Vegas.

Anyways, I really need some advice on what would be a cool route for this that would be timely enough for us to make San Diego given the time constraint of 6ish days. I'd prefer not to stay on the big ol' highways and all.

Also wonder if anyone has advice on cool places to stop/camp.

Finally...anything cool to check out in In, Ill, Mo, Ks??? I'm thinking about going straight to somewhere near Kansas City on the first day cause I can't think of anything cool to check out, but if there is something sweet I'd definitely like to check it out.

    Thanks!!

    Default Welcome!

Welcome to the RoadTrip America Forum!

While the time you have scheduled for this trip is a bit tight, you can still see some things on your way:

    Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Indiana)
    St. Louis Arch (Missouri)

just for a couple of stops.

Kansas City is 1000 miles from where you are starting - you would have to drive 18 hours straight to make that in the first day, which would be extremely difficult, not to mention you wouldn't be able to see much of anything. However, Indianapolis would be a reasonable stop on your first day, followed by
    Springfield, MO,
    Amarillo, TX,
    Flagstaff, AZ,
    and finally San Diego, CA

If you stretch this out to six days, you'd probably be able to fit the Grand Canyon in there. With just five days, it is tight (as you can see).
