Default Ideas for Labor Day Weekend

We will be camping somewhere between Washington DC and Boston for Labor Day weekend and are looking for ideas. Ideally we would be within about 2-3 hours of Boston, be near water, have a nice campground with trees, grass and shade, some nearby or on-site activities and not too noisy.

Default Many areas fit the bill

Two to three hours from Boston gives you much of the coastline of New England to choose from, especially since you want to be near water. In fact, the entire state of Rhode Island fits this bill.

I have heard good things about Myles Standish State Forest as well. This may be just what you are looking for.
