  1. Default Aussies on a Road Trip!!

Hi all. "Long time listener/first time caller"!!!

My wife and I are having our honeymoon in Hawaii in June then are coming on to do my lifes dream -drive across the country. We start from LA then go on to the following: Vegas, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Miami, Nashville, Indianapolis, Chicago, Washington D.C, New York, Boston. Then we're off to England to visit relos!!

What do you guys think.... Anything I should know/look out for. Cheap accommodation?
We are renting a car from Budget (got a good rate for 30 days rental). Just a smalling one so sleeping in it wont be an option.

Thanks all. There's heaps of great info on this site!

It is always nice to know when our long-time "lurkers" stop by and say "hey". Welcome to the Great American RoadTrip Forum!

Looks like a nice route -- and thirty days is a great span of time to see some of what there is to see here.

Here are some tips I wrote for spring breakers, but they apply equally well to all trippers.

    Default Route 66

I can't think of a finer way to from Albuquerque to Oklahoma City than getting off the interstate and cruising Route 66 for the length or at least stretches of it.

This past fall, we stayed at the Rodeway Inn in Albuquerque for $39 and the Executive Inn in Oklahoma City for $52. We found gas cheaper once past Texas going east.
