  1. Default Whitehorse to Seattle

I've done Whitehorse to Seattle before, but this time I'm doing it with seven other people, as opposed to two. Is camping better than motels? Should we get a van? How long will this take? Any help, please is appericiated.

Welcome aboard the RoadTrip America Forums!

Much of what you want to know is really beyond the power of anyone but yourselves to answer. The trip is about 1650 miles, so could, conceivably, be made in 3 days. But keep in mind that it takes longer to get 8 people up and going in the morning than 2 or three. The same is true with getting settled in at night and at each rest, gas, and food stop along the way. Be sure to factor that into your plans.

With 8 people, you are going to need at least a full-sized van to hold you all in one vehicle. Most SUV's and mini-vans max out at 7 - and then there's the baggage. You might want to seriously consider two sedans instead. Folks might be more comfortable, you can switch off who's riding with whom, and should a breakdown occur, you'll have a 'spare' vehicle to go for help. Camping would certainly be cheaper than getting 3 or 4 motel rooms each night, but it really comes down to how comfortable everyone would be with such an arrangement.

So, it's time to sit down with you travelling companions and see what all of you want to do, what your budget in time and money looks like, and decide for yourselves what the basic outline and tenor of your trip will be.
