Default Rental Cars, long trips, maintenance?

Anyone ever take a rental on a very long road trip? Like over 5000-7000 miles? What about oil changes? Who worries about that?

And anyone know any companies to stay away from?

    Default All the time

People take rental cars on long trips all the time. Its really a quite common practice.

As far as oil changes go, you just have to make arraignments when you reserve the car. Usually, you can just take it into another rental office along your route.

I've never found a big difference among the companies, but you might find a little better service with some of the "higher end" companies like Avis or Hertz when compared to the discount companies like Budget or Enterprise.
