Hope you can help out. We are heading to USA from Australia in mid Feb 2011 for 8 weeks. so far our plan is to hire a motorhome from LA and head north west to Mt Rushmore area via Las Vegas and then down through Colorado right through to the South East over a period of about 3 weeks. Not sure if heading to Mt Rushmore region will be worth it as i'm sure it will be very cold and also do you think 3 weeks to get to the South West will be long enough? From there we will be flying/train etc up the east coast and through to the bottom of Canada with a final magical drive from San Fran back to LA (heard this is fantastic - do you think 5 days will be enough?). what do you think of our rough plan so far? We realise what the weather will be like (sadly only time to get 8 weeks off) and are hoping with this route we will be getting warmer weather as we go. Would be great to hear your suggestions.
