• Robert's Prairie Dog Town - Badlands National Park, South Dakota

      Roadtrip Attraction
Located just five miles west of the Pinnacles entrance to Badlands N.P. along the unpaved "but easily drivable" Sage Creek Rim Road, Robert's Prairie Dog Town is a large colony of black-tailed prairie dogs. Few things are more guaranteed to make you smile than spending quarter of an hour watching busy prairie dogs go about their business, barking to one another as they pop in and out of their burrows.

      If you go:
Don't feed the prairie dogs, and do keep your distance from the bison that you may well encounter in this area.

Great example of the little things that you might mix on a road trip but which can be memorable for years and years!
