Charlotte, Vermont: The Vermont Wildflower Farm
Charlotte, was founded in 1762 and is located in the Champlain Valley overlooking Lake Champlain. Itís a farming town and the center of an agricultural community that includes working farms producing orchards, berries, honey, grain and wildflowers. The Vermont Wildflower Farm
has been in business since 1981 and is the largest flower seed producer in the Northeast. Itís located on the southwest side of Charlotte, Vermont on US-Hwy 7, just east of Lake Champlain. The store carries bulbs, perennial plants, ornamental grasses and herbs. If you are seeking an interesting and USA-grown product for your road tripping shopping list, the gift store is a great place to stop. The store is open from April to late October.
There is also a ľ mile loop nature trail with information about local fauna and there are a series of paths around the production gardens that are open from May to late October . There are over 350 species of wildflowers on the property.
