
There are few better ways to while away an hour or two that wandering around a county museum and Beaverhead is a perfect example. The main building houses mammoth fossils, a huge stuffed bear, minerals, two-headed calf, mining equipment, dusty family collections, and the obligatory barb write displays. There's a pioneer cabin, an old schoolhouse, rusting trucks and Indian ephemera. And the building next door - the old rail depot building - is home to a huge collection of stuffed birds and a genuinely impressive Lewis and Clark diorama.
