This 2,000 acre nature preserve features miles of stunning trails, fishing, kayaking, and it is one of the best spots for bird watching. There are also a few historical homestead sites found along the hiking trails. The trails are well marked and easy walking with only slight elevation. You can easily spend an entire day hiking here, or just a few minutes to get some fresh air and enjoy the solitude.

      If you go:
Tillinghast Pond is open year round from one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset. There are no entrance fees. Pets are not permitted inside the nature area as they can upset the delicate ecosystem. Hunting is allowed however, and it a must for all visitors to wear either an orange florescent vest or hat during hunting season.
