• Bradbury Science Museum - Los Alamos, New Mexico

      Originally founded in 1953 in an old ice house and later relocated to more spacious and modern quarters, the Bradbury Science Museum houses approximately 60 interactive exhibits showcasing the research of Los Alamos National Laboratory. This includes the World War II Manhattan Project, and other research projects related to defense, technology, and national security. Recently added exhibits recount the development of supercomputers, and the Los Alamos Laboratory's involvement in neuron science, the Mars rover and nanotechnology.

      If you go:
      Free admission. Open Sunday and Monday 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Closes during snowstorms, so call the weather hotline if there is any doubt.
