• Marin Headlands - Sausalito, California

      Walk along the beach, add to your birding list or visit the light house. You can learn about early inhabitants, the Coast Miwok Indians, and the military uses and visit the Nike Missile site and other historical military installations. Explore the area by hiking or biking or camp overnight in one of the campgrounds. From some points, you'll have spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco.

      If you go:
      The Visitor Center is open from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM daily except Thanksgiving and Christmas and is located in the historic Fort Barry Chapel. Restroom facilities at the visitor center. Bring any food or snacks; none available. The Baker-Barry Tunnel will be closed for improvements from approximately January 2017 to May 2017; use alternate routes. Picnic areas and tent camping.
