• Bear Creek Regional Park and Nature Center - Colorado Springs, Colorado

      In the foothills not far from downtown Colorado Springs, hike through a variety of habitats on self-guiding nature trails including short grass prairie, scrub oak woodlands and cottonwood riparian areas. The nature center provides hands on exhibits and interactive activities. For longer hikes, take advantage of the more extensive network of regional trails. The regional park offers picnic areas and recreational activities.

      If you go:
      The nature center is open Tuesday-Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The nature trails and other facilities can be used from dawn to dusk. Regional park hours are 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. Pets are not allowed on nature trails. Picnic tables and restroom facilities are located in the regional park. No fee.
