• Jemez Historic Site - Jemez Springs, New Mexico

Constructed as a pueblo by the Jemez people around 7 centuries ago, this site was later occupied by Spanish missionaries. The 7 acres of ruins bear testimony to both cultures. The interpretative center has illuminating exhibits on the Jemez people. And while you're in the neighborhood, you'll surely want to soak in one of the hot mineral springs located in the area.

      If you go:
Open Wednesday through Sunday, 8:30 to 5:00. Closed Monday, Tuesday and major holidays. Minimal admission charge. Located on state highway 4, 43 miles north of Bernalillo.
