Hotel Nipton is one of the oldest hotels in southern Nevada. The building dates to 1904 and has been in use ever since. Nipton is known as the "Gateway to the Mojave Desert" and the small, quaint hotel is a great option for those who want to truly experience the desert. Nipton is very quiet besides the occasional passing train, and the clear, bright night sky offers superb stargazing opportunities.

      If you go:
Reservations should be made in advance. While the hotel is small, with only four rooms, their accessibility is generally clear. There are eco-cabins and camping options available as well. The Kelso Train Depot is a short drive away, and the Joshua Tree Highway is to the east of town heading towards Searchlight, Nevada. Primm, Nevada is also nearby. You might want to go soon, as the entire town is now for sale!
