Bridal Veil Falls is a 525-foot double cataract waterfall in Provo Canyon with a storied past. It once had a six-passenger aerial tramway to the top, where a lodge and restaurant was located. An avalanche in 1996 destroyed the tramway. Restoration plans were abandoned in 2008 when the lodge buildings at the top were destroyed by an arson fire. Today there is a nice shady park just off Highway 189 with picnic facilities and trails up to the falls. Adventurous visitors can climb the falls and, in the winter, some actually ice climb up the frozen cascade.
If you go:
This is a pleasant place to have a picnic lunch and enjoy the view. Just a few miles up US Highway 189 is the southern entrance to the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway.
