Situated at the top of a 17 mile drive from Port Angeles (head south on Hurricane Ridge Road past the visitor centre) Hurricane Ridge is the most easily accessible - and therefore most visited - mountain areas within the park. The views are spectacular whether you choose to stay at the visitor center, follow an easy, wheelchair accessible stroll along the ridge or take a more challenging hike down into the valleys past subalpine lakes.

      If you go:
Hurricane Ridge Visitor Centre is open all year round and has exhibits, an orientation movie and restrooms. The snack bar and gift shop are open mid May to late September and weekends mid December to late March (snowshoe and ski rentals are available in winter).
