This museum in Leland, near where Muppets creator Jim Henson grew up, proclaims Leland to be The Birthplace Of Kermit the Frog, which is almost true. Henson didn't create his iconic Muppet until much later, but it was named after a childhood friend he played with along Deer Creek, which the museum sits next to. And the love of nature fostered by this < environment certainly may have provided some inspiration. The museum houses photos, letters and videos documenting Henson's life and career. And of course, actual Muppets.
