• The Walters Art Museum - Baltimore, Maryland

      Located in Baltimore's historic Mt. Vernon Cultural District, The Walters Art Museum, previously known as The Walters Art Gallery, is one of the finest art museums in the country. Its exhibits cover an astonishing breadth, ranging from Egyptian mummies to medieval armor and weaponry to paintings by Renaissance masters to Tiffany jewelry and Faberge eggs. And one of the most amazing things of all is that general admission is free.

      If you go:
      Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m.to 5 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m.to 9 p.m. Closed Monday and Tuesday, and the following holidays: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observed, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Open New Year's Day until 5 p.m. and Independence Day. Photography is generally permitted, but no videos, tripods or cords. Admission may be charged for special exhibits.
